Hi, I just installed windows xp upgrade from ME onto my laptop. I use a modem to dial onto MSN. I updated all of my device drivers. I am still having two problem. The major problem is that when I am online for more than a few minutes, I receive an error that NT SYSTEM is shutting down due to a remote procedure call. I am then knocked off and the computer shuts down and then restarts. How can I fix this

I am also getting an error on start up that says windows cannot locate DRI_KBFiltr.

Someone, please help!!!!!!!!!!

You have the Blaster worm or one of its variants.
To stop the shutdown process
Start - Run - type cmd
in the command line type shutdown -a

Go here and follow instructions:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/blaster.htm

You need to download and install all MS Critical Patches and Updates.

Then, to keep your computer safe, you need the following:

A good Anti-Virus scanner

A good firewall like Zone Alarm or the built in XP firewall
ZoneAlarm is available free at:
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp

Ad-Aware 6.0 - for removing spyware

Spybot Search & Destroy - for removing spyware
http://www.safer-networking.org/

CWShredder - gets rid of page hijackers
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

Google Toolbar - for blocking popups

Before running the Spybot and Ad-Aware, delete temporary internet files
and internet history.

It sounds like you have a virus. I can't recall the name of the virus but
it was very prevelant a few months ago and effected the remote procedure
call. I would suggest that you run a virus scan via the internet.

It sounds like you have a virus. I would suggest using a scan via the
internet. I can't recall the name of the virus but it caused a shutdown via
the remote procedure call. It uses your computer to spam other computers.

You have the MSBLAST.EXE worm.
If you are quick you can shut it down
via Taskmanager. This is not a new
worm. You can get a free fix from
Symantec.

Ohoh, it's back! Gator enlightens us with it's wisdom (or lack there of)
again.
