I have downloaded the programme (see below) and now when I start my computer
it gives me the opportunity to go into the recovery console. It then asked
for my local administrator password and as far as I know I haven't got one.
If I just press "enter" the computer starts Windows normally. I have tried a
couple of passwords that I have possibly use for other things but I am
the only person using this computer I'm sure I did not create an
administrator password.
I would appreciate any advice on how to get access to the Windows XP
recovery console
George
I am using Windows XP home
TIP: Recovering a corrupted Operating System (Windows XP)
Intermediate / Advanced User Technical Tip : Recovering a corrupted
Operating System (Windows XP) The use of the Windows XP recovery console
will often allow Windows to recover from a data error caused by power
glitches, corrupt software, malware and such like. The link below shows a
Microsoft Knowledge base article explains the installation and use of the
recovery console. Evesham would recommend that experienced Windows users
install this useful software application, especially if your evesham PC was
shipped with either recovery media 200-0095 or 200-0096.
