Windows XP Proffessional and Word 2000

I had some problems starting my old operating system of XP Home edition, the machine went away for repair, came back with upgrade to XP professional, now I can't open any documents in Word 2000, or write new documents. I get an error message saying, the feature you are trying to use requires a network rescource which is unavailable. Can you help.
