I'm finding for sale in some PC stores and online Windows XP Professional
x64-bit Edition with SP2b.
Is this SP2b BETA?
Or a final release of SP2 for x64?

Also, what about this new SP2b that is circulating around for the regular
Windows XP Home/Pro 32-bit Editions? I only buy OEM.

I would imagine it's service pack 2b as in service pack 2a just the latest
additions in the service pack.

Nobody knows and Microsoft has so far refused to even admit that
Service Pack 2b exists, let alone provide any information as how this
differs from the original Service Pack 2.

There is no Service Pack 2, of any sub-lettered variey, for WinXPx64.
I'd be very cautious about buying software from anyone claiming to sell
a non-existent version.

I see lots of online vendors selling this, although I see no explanation for
the SPb
can't find anything on MS re the SPb either, course I'm not a wiz at finding
stuff using Microsoft.

That's an update to "Sandra" a System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting
Assistant. It is an information & diagnostic utility that's been around for
a long time. 2b refers to the updated program. It's not Windows.
