Is it possible to obtain SR1, or other huge file sized
updates via mail on CD? How do I obtain SR1 using the
internet from a NON-XP computer. I've searched
microsoft's web site and I can't fine the Win XP pro SR1
download.
If I can't receive this SR via mail on CD, I would like to
download it from a Win 2000 work pc that has a broadband
connection. .... Having to download such massive files on
my home dial-up internet connection is impractice...
Thanks

Thanks Scott... since you had to do a "google" search for
a MS file, I take it that you couldn't find it from
Microsoft's search engine either.... strange???
P.S... being asked to spend 1 cent extra for a cd to fix
buggy products is awfully d*** cheeky of MS... $9.95 for
the cd !!!!! lol ... no wonder they are getting sued
daily.

Why do you feel "ripped off?" I just mailed a CD to my parents. I
sent it halfway across the country, and it cost me close to $3.00.
Add to that the cost of the CD itself, the energy/wear-tear on the
burner to make it. blah blah blah...well, the point it it probably
cost me around $4 to make the CD and send it.

OK, now MS does it, but they don't use a homemade burner. Their CDs
are professional silver CDs, with professional printing, etc, which
costs more that what we make. Granted, they do get a better shipping
rate that we do since they mail in bulk, but even so.

I don't think $10 is an outrageous fee, but it's a free country so
feel outraged all you want. MS gets sued daily because we seem to be
a sue-happy population anymore.

Ouch, I just pressed a key on my keyboard to hard and hurt my finger.
I better see a lawyer and sue the manufacturer of the keyboard for
making me have to press the key so hard to make it work.
