windows xp professional start up

Reboot the machine, press F8 to bring up the boot options list. Select
"Disable automatic restart". The computer should now stop at the blue screen.
Repost the message on the screen.
 
this came out of nowhere, do you have an idea as to what may have caused the
problem?
