Windows Xp professional restarts unexpectedly in the
middle of everything. It restarts even after doing this:-
1>Controll Panel --->System --->Advanced --->In the Start
up and Recovery settings unchecking the Automatically
restart checkbox on system Failure.I also disabled Error
reporting and checked the notify me after critical errors.
2> In the device MAnager there are no Exclamation marks
or ? marks means there are no conflicts or problems
whatsoever.
Still Windows Xp restarts Frequently and that also when I
am working, listening songs or even surfing the Internet.
I tried looking for Viruses If any but found none.
I used Avast and then again Norton all updated till date.
Please Please help me.

Hi,

Then it's a hardware issue. Most systems will restart to prevent damage to
system components if something is overheating or failing. I would start by
checking the fans for proper operation and ensuring plenty of ventilation
(check if intakes are clogged too), and if possible, monitoring the
motherboard and cpu temps. If you're uncomfortable with opening and working
on the machine, bring it to a shop (and I mean a real shop, not some office
superstore).
