system restarts unexpectedly

My system has twice restarted while I was opening a programme. Just now I was
opening Adobe Photoshop CS. I also had Excel, Word & Office open. Does anyone
have any idea what might be causing this?

The error report came up with the following files in the Temp folder:
'WERf23f.dir00\mini031506-01.dmp'
'WERf23f.dir00\sysdata.xml'

I run XP home with Office 2003 and I have the following spyware/antivirus
programmes running:

Norton Internet Security 2005
Adaware SE Professional
Spybot S&E
Windows Defender
Spyware Doctor
TweakNow Reg Cleaner

This morning I ran the reg cleaner and quarantined all the reg entries that
had missing files or folders. Could this be the reason for the odd behaviour?

If this started happenimg right after you ran the "Reg Cleaner" then it is
very likely the culprit, If it has a restore feature then I suggest that you
use it, if it doesn't then try system restore and see if it helps.

I've restored the pc to before I ran the reg cleaner but it restarted again.
I've just realised that i also had IE6 open at the time. This time the pc
restarted while I was surfing. Does this give any clues?

Jackie, rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Advanced>Startup and
Recovery-Settings>Uncheck Automatically Restart
click Ok. This may cause a blue screen with error message next time it
tries to restart. Post the message here.

Hi

Thanks. I've done that and will post the error message if the blue screen
appears. (This is what you meant by post the message here?).
