If you've spent multiple hours, then I assume you've tried to log in as
Administrator (not a user with Administrative privileges, but
"Administrator"). If you didn't assign a password, then it will be a
blank one. If you can't get in then you can try one of the NT password
cracking programs or use a Linux distro like Knoppix to get in and copy
the data, then reinstall Windows.
