I have tried in vain to avtivate a number of times but it
seems Microsoft is unable to contact my e-mail. Only a
few dauys remain . W@hat am I to do?

Greetings --

There is no mechanism to activate WinXP, or any other Microsoft
product, via email. You must use either a live Internet connection,
or a telephone call. To start the process, click Start > All Programs
Accessories > System Tools > Activate Windows. Alternatively, Start
Run > "C:\Windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A."

E-mail does not come into the matter.

Get on the internet, then go to
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
and select 'Activate on the INternet now and OK

It will contact the activation centre across the net and do the job in a
few seconds

While everyone is right about the e-mail thing, I think
you're missing the fact that not everyone is that saavy
and quite often, un-saavy computer users will refer to
their internet connection as their e-mail. I think what
was meant here is Windows XP is not finding the internet
connection, but I could be wrong.
