Exactly, Dell computers (laptop or desktop) come with the same XP Home key
on the original install but they do have stickers with different Product
Keys. Found this out when rebuilding two computers that a friend had
trashed with spam, worms, virus infections and browser hijacks.
All the fixes listed here wouldn't clear out all the trash.
If your system came pre-installed with XP, the Key that your
key finder retrieves may be the Key the OEM used to install
and not the Key you need to reinstall. If you reinstalled XP
since the initial setup, the Product Key will be the valid key
supplied with your computer and not the one the key finder
found.
