Windows XP problems switching resolutions

Bible John

Everytime I switch the res on this XP machine (800x600) to (1152x864) or
whatever the PC scans the floppy. It does this everytime I switch the res
and it gets very annoying. Is there a fix?

I primarly use USB flash and CD-R, but on occassion I will use a floppy. Its
very useful when talking wiht my ancient Compaq laptop that cannot read USB
flash, nor burn CD's. Heck the machine does not even have a built in
ethernet port. So floppies are the way to go there. The laptop still has
value (for Word Processing, Spreadsheets, talking with my GPS,etc..)

Don't know if it will help but standard advice for undue floppy access:

Check settings in antivirus program - disable all floppy related settings

Clear history for the Run box. Using Internet Options> History> Clear
History will address the list in the Run box. This will also clear your
browser history though. If you'd rather avoid that, look for one of the MRU
cleaner programs that will address just the run list. Or you could edit the
MRU keys in the registry.

For quirky behavior with display drivers and related software, try
installing the same. Or, if you prefer, update these if update versions are
available.
