What Jim is trying to tell you is you provided no useful information in your
post, read the link in my sig on how to ask a question, then post back with
some relevant info: make/model of PC, hardware specs, how the "reinstall"
was accomplished, etc.
 
Backup your personal data to USB drive if you have. Then, boot XP from
CDROM, delete the old partition(s), create a new one, format with NTFS
(don't use Quick Format method); take some time but reliable. If your
hard disk is SATA type, you need to have a floppy/CD with SATA device
driver ready.
