Windows XP pro

I find myself with a bootleg copy of XP Pro. Is there a way to use an
upgrade (legal) version to make this legal or do I have to buy a complete
copy of XP Pro and reload all of my applications?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Who gave you the "bootleg" copy of XP? Did it come with your PC?
You can force them to supply you with a proper (OEM or retail) copy
of XP. Or threaten to take legal action (lol). Check your system for
the Key Code.

Then contact MS for a replace of a lost or damaged disk. Good luck.

If you have a "bogus" XP Pro install, you can "repair" this with a legal
version by:

1) Buy a full copy of XP Pro (OEM or Retail)

AND

2) Follow the steps to do a repair re-install on top of the "bogus" version.
This should replace the "cracked" files and CD Key.

Then, consider denouncing the company who originally sold you the bootleg
software to Microsoft.
