Windows XP Pro Vs Windows Server 2000/2003

My concern is simple:

1. Can I use XP Pro as a Server to replace Windows Server?
2. What are the diff between Xp Pro and Server 2000/2003?
 
XP Pro can only have 10 concurrent network connections at
any time. XP pro has none of the additional functionality
ie active directory etc.
