Depends on how often and when, but one thing you can check is in My Compute
Properties. Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Startup &
Recovery > Uncheck "automatically restart".
Your XP machine shouldn't be crashing frequently, but this is somewhere to
start. Something like this would probably only be figured out through
process of elimination.
