Windows XP Pro...LOST!!!

I just purchased WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL and was going to
installed it. I hadn't passed the "registration" part
yet. Anyway, I've lost my disk, AND cert of auth...now
the computer won't let me access my files. And I can't
undo it...Is there anything I can do?

Well, if you lost your Windows XP CD, the COA, and never
registered it, you are, unfortunately, out of luck. You'll need to
purchase a new copy of Windows XP.

If your luck is like mine, the best way to find it is to
waste your time looking everywhere, then go spend the
money for a new one.
Then, and only then, will the original one show up.

Greetings --

How could you have possibly lost the CD and the Product Key during
the installation? The CD should still be in the CD Drive, and the
Product Key is still on the CD packaging.

I have the same problem as you, misplaced my XP registration information and need to obtain a new one, so tech support tells me, can you help with info on where I can get a new disk and reg. info?

Thanks

Well, disreguarding that this sounds suspicious..

Is XP still installed?

Try AIDA:

Or try Magic Jelly Bean KeyFinder:

If it was a Retail copy and you have proof of the purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact whomever sold you the
OS; although very few manufacturers/vendors keep records of the
Product Keys they've sold, it's worth a try before you have to buy a
new license.
