Recently since installing anti virus software from sbc yahoo when windows
boots up I get an error window that says unable to find file
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\FF.EXE
ANY IDEAS? Also I tried to do a repair by booting up from the windows xp cd
but it asks me for the administrator paassword but I never set one up that I
can remember. Is there a default password?

Thanks
Tom

There's a few things you could try:

1) Download any updates from your anti-virus manufacturer and apply them.
2) Try booting in safe mode and then uninstalling the anti-viris software.

If 1) works, then everythings good; if it doesn't, then try conracting your
AV manufacturer and asking them what's goiung on.

This is likely caused by the removal of spyware/malware or a virus. The registry entry that is left behind is still trying to load this file. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup Programs Tracker. This small utility will list all startup items and show you where they're loading from. The included Help gives basic information on how to remove any unwanted items.
