Windows XP Pro does not start after MS Driver updates

I got a message that I had to update my drivers (nvidia
and Via networks driver) and I restarted computer and now
it doesn't start up at all. All I get is the black and
white screen saying that it does not detect my hard
drive. How do I start and safe-mode and delete or roll
back drivers.

Haha, you got a better monitor? sounds like you monitor is not in synch
with the frequency you last selected. Usually you get a VGA, if not then
your nvidia may still be running except it runs at a different frequency.
You can power it down by force, this way hopefully the OS will bring a
safe-mode up for you. It should be design.
