Windows XP is written in specific language versions, therefore one
cannot change it from one language version to another. You'll need
to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP in the language version
you desire, reformat your drive and install it "clean".

Or if you have an available empty drive or partition, you can install
another "Full Version" of Windows XP in a different language version
and create a dual-boot configuration.

A good third-party partitioning program is Partition Magic 8.

Hi,

No, you'd need an English language version. You can't simply switch between
languages.

It depends if it's English XP in chinese (English XP and only english XP can do any language but you need to buy the language specific files). If so yes. If it's chinese XP then no.

You need to find out from the seller. If it is English XP with Chinese language files then it may not be able to be sold by the seller.

I thought that if one had the installation cd one could install other
languages onto the machine from the XP CD, or to use muisetup.exe to change
user interface language?

Sorry, your assumptions are incorrect.
