Windows xp playing up running slow and accessing the HD a lot

My Xp seems to go into a very slow mode and accessing the hard drive very
frequently.I've had to do a restore point a few times and it seems to run ok
for a while.
Oh and when i've tried to shut down a message will come up saying to shut
Drag to disk down.

There are tools around to find the culprit/s. Scan the system for
malware in addition.

Not a Windows issue. "Drag to disk" might belong to poor Roxio software
that you may want to uninstall.

Drag to disk is the packet writing utility associated with Roxio's burning
suite. There is a problem with it closing. You might want to uninstall
then reinstall the suite.
