THIS IS A DELL DIMENSION DESKTOP THAT HAS THE BUILT-IN CD PLAYER IN IT AND IT USED TO WORK FINE. NOW THE CD DRIVE WONT OPEN WHEN YOU PUCH THE BUTTON AND THE D: DRIVE DISAPPERED. ANY IDEAS?
No problem. It looks like you the drivers for your CD are damanged. Just download the new driver from Dells Website (or use your Dell drivers CD). You can enter your Service Tag and it will
come out with all the free downloads for your particular PC. The service tag is unique to you and this is at the back of the PC. The link to Dell's site is:
the drivers will not effect the power side..aslong as it has power it will
open ...atleast in all of my experience
first change the p4 power cable to another p/s outlet and if that doesn't
work get a new cd drive they are cheap!
