I have two computers, both running Windoxs XP (SP2). One is a Dell desktop
and the other is a Dell Laptop. The desktop connects to my Linksys G router
via ethernet cable while the laptop accesses via wireless. I have run the
networking wizard on both computers. My problem is twofold: 1) The
computers do not appear on my network places on the other computer, but do
show up on the workgroup computer screen. 2) When I attempt to access the
desktop computer, I get a message stating that the desktop computer "is not
accessible. You might not have permission to use this network. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The
network path was not found." I can SOMETIMES access the laptop computer from
the desktop but not always.

I have no idea what may be wrong or what I may have done to facilitate this
problem, but I would greatly appreciate any help that you may be able to
provide me with this issue. I can be contacted via email at
(e-mail address removed).

Thanks for your help!

When you say "I can SOMETIMES access the laptop computer from the desktop but
not always.", you are describing a browser problem. If one computer uses WiFi,
this is a good possibility. Don't confuse this with Internet Explorer, as this
is not related to Internet access. Read this article with an open mind:

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall. There are other possibilities too. Read this

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely:
