I cannot say till I get home, but the RTM of GIANT's works on MCE 2004 with
NIS 2005.

It works fine on MCE2004. If you are running MCE2005 AND using Media Center
Extenders, there is an issue. Please do not install MS AS on a computer that
is running MCE2005 and also using Media Center Extenders. If you are not
using Extenders, there is no issue.

Could you explain a little more.

Shannon,
Using MSAS on MCE2005 *IF* you are using a Media Center Extender prevents
the Extender from making a connection. If you are not using Media Center
Extenders, there is no issue.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the correction--I had MAS installed on the MCE 2005 that isn't
using the XBox extender when I posted. I found the problem the hard way when
I installed MAS on the other MCE machine <G>

That's one kind of experience that makes a beta memorable <g>

You'll probably be able to smell the folks with MCE 2005 problems when they
post with a subject header like "it broke!"

My system at home runs MCE 2005, and I have not had any issues except with
the extender so I wrote the KB :) - can you provide more details about what
is happening with your box?

Check the "other end" of this same group--there's another post with somewhat
more detail.
