Xbox Media Center Extender Cannot Start

Microsoft AntiSpyware Version: 1.0.701
Media Center Edition 2002 SP2

If I am logged on to my Media Center PC and Anti-Spyware is running, my
Media Center Extender running on my old school Xbox fails to start. It finds
the service, connects, displays the menu, but then reports "lost connection.
Press OK to try to reconnect."

A look in my Event log on the Media Center PC reveals:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Media Center Remote Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8
Date: 12/8/2005
Time: 7:59:21 PM
User: N/A
Computer: XXXXXXX-MC
Description:
Unauthorized window was detect while running the Media Center Experience,
'gcasDtServHolder', with file name 'L:\Program Files\Microsoft
AntiSpyware\gcasDtServ.exe'.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Shutting Down Anti-Spyware solves the problem, so I have a work around.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Dave thanks!

Who knew reading the release notes would contain the answers! I should try
reading those someday.

I hope you don't mind if I cross post your answer on the MCE forum as there
were a few people discussing the problem over there.

I am also glad to hear there is a fix forth coming.

No problem re: the xpost... and the last I heard:

"I also want to thank those customers who are giving us feedback on Beta 1
through the community newsgroups. We hear your feedback and are incorporating it
into the development of Windows Defender Beta 2, which we expect in a couple of
months." -Sterling Reasor, a program manager for the current Windows AntiSpyware
beta and forth-coming Windows Defender.

That would be about February, the way I count.

Please post this as widely as possible.

This KB article was the very first one written about Microsoft Antispyware,
but it's crucial now that Xbox360 us out.
