windows xp locks-up

Upon booting and arriving at the logon screen, If the keyboard is depressed
in any manner the system freezes at this point. Havr tried setting registry
to auto logon thru live cd any and all attempts result in negative results.
Short of reinstall any ideas.

Safe mode?

Beyond that - you would need to provide a lot more details on the system and
how you think it may have arrived to this state.

same results with safe mode. all versions, command line, with network
support, without.
Pc boots to logon screen, once a keyboard is touched it locks, ps2 or usb.
I've been in the business over 10 years also msce never seen anything like
this!
