As a result of a series of events, i had to format my
hard drive and now i'm tryin to re-install windows xp,
except that i can't. When my pc boots up and the setup
screen comes on, all is fine. i create a new partition,
format it, but when the installation starts it keeps
giving me this message that it cant find a particular
file. It does this for about a dozen or so files and when
it starts up, it shows me this blue screen with something
abt a memory management error.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.....
thanks

Hi

Could you please post the exact error message/Stop Code that the BSOD shows?
With that, someone may be able to help you.

Greetings --

Perhaps it was failing hardware that was the cause of your
original problems, leading you to attempt a reinstallation. Based
upon your paraphrasing of an error message, I'd suspect bad RAM.

Problems copying files or corrupted files during installation are
most often caused by defective or sub-standard hardware; in order of
likelihood, either RAM, the hard drive, or the motherboard. On much
less frequent occasions, a bad CD or defective CD drive can also cause
this.
