I currently run ME and want to completely erase my hard
drive and install XP from a clean slate. I deleted the
hard drive and the current partition and made a new
partition, but it's still a DOS (not sure if that effects
anything) partition. I inserted the XP CD but it will not
run: "This CD can not run in DOS." How do I go about
accomplishing this? Do I need an XP boot disk?? Any help
would be appreciated.

.

Get into your BIOS (Hit Delete Key while computer loads
right at beginning) and change the computer so that the
CD-ROM boots first. Save and exit BIOS and put in WinXP
CD and restart machine. The WinXP CD will re-format the
HD and install (or should) just fine from that point.
