I accidentaly set the program cd to install rather than repair and now I
cannot get out of the program loop. Every time I try to reboot the system it
goes back into the setup program with or without the disc in the drive.

How do I abort the install program and revert to the existing installation

Here's Hoping

Graham

On starting computer enter the BIOS,select to boot to xp cd (1st boot device),
install xp cd,exit BIOS boot to cd,at info screen select r for
recovery,select disk
1 for C: then press enter key for password if prompted. Then type:DiskPart
In
DiskPart, delete the partition, create one then press ESC key, type:EXIT Let xp
restart, reboot to cd,select install xp.I'd imagine if xp tried to
install,youre OS
is corrupt,a new xp install is warranted.Otherwise, try this 1st,tap F8 at
starting
computer, select safe mode with networking, enter as adm.Chk out the OS

Don't do this if you have important information you need to retreive. It may
still be possible to rtreive the information. Andrew E delites in giving
advice that causes users to lose their information.
Post back for better suggestions.
