Oh my! My 'recycle bin' shows that I have items to be
deleted (the bin icon looks like it has trash in it). So I
opened the recycle bin, but there are no files showing.
However, when I click 'empty the recycle bin', a message
comes up saying, "are you sure you want to
delete "WINDOWS"? Of course I hit no.

Why is my OS in there? What can I do short of doing a
full recovery of my hard drive?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS - (I have updated virus definitions, run a full scan
which came back clean)

Thanks,
Julie

Try this, right click the desktop icon for Recycle Bin and select
Properties. Make note of the size % under the slider. Check the box "Use One
Setting for All Drives" then move the slider all the way to the left so that
0% shows as the maximum size of recycle bin. Click "Apply" then OK. Now try
an "Empty" and see if this corrected it. If all OK, go back and resize the
bin. By setting the size to zero, you have, in affect, deleted the index
file that list the items to be deleted.
