Hello, please help with the following:

1> Cannot change the Mail program to Outlook Express in
IE6.0 Browser. Only has Microsoft Outlook as mail choice

2> Spell Check does not work on Outlook Express

3> Outlook Express checks and sends mail fine

4> IE browses fine...

5> Do we need to re-install IE 6.0 and if so on XP should
we follow the registry directions as indicated in Tech
Bulletin from Microsoft?

1. Set your mail program.
Start
Control Panel
Internet Options
Programs option
Email drop-down menu: select OE

2. Windows never comes with Spell-check. You would get
that with a word processor, or as a stand-alone. Check the
Web for a spell-check dictionary.

RM;
1)Why can't I set OE as the default email client?
Why can't I Reply to Author in newsgroups?
Why do I see a Choose Profile window when I Reply to Author in newsgroups?
All of these problems indicate that OE is not properly configured as the default
email client on your computer. To be sure OE is the default mail client, close OE,
click Start| Run and enter this command line, complete with quotes, spaces and the
/reg switch:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

Of course change the path if you installed OE elsewhere.

Now click Start| Settings| Control Panel, double-click Internet Options, then
click
on the Programs tab, and verify that OE is now the default email client. (You can
also get there from the IE Tools| Internet Options menu). Then open OE and click
Tools| Options, and at the bottom of the General tab, verify that OE is set as the
default. If it is, the "Make Default" button will be grayed out. If not, click the
button.

2)To check the spelling in messages
Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft
Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do
not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available.
a.. In the New Message window, click Spelling on the toolbar, or on the Tools menu,
click Spelling.
Note:
a.. To customize the way your spelling checker works, on the Tools menu, click
Options, and then select the Spelling tab.

Lots of good info. Hope this helps. Let us know.
