windows xp "hot fix"

I went to my add/remove programs to remove a game and i
noticed about 20 windows xp "hotfixes" could you tell me
what these are and why i have to download all of
theses......i was going to remove them but am advised not
to if i download them can i remove them from the
add/remove program center HELP! thank you
 
I delete them from my Windows folder. They will be listed first. You can
then "uninstall" them from Add/Remove without actually uninstalling them.

Those 'Hotfixes' are the Windows Update installations. May I suggest that
you leave them where they are.
