Windows XP Home will not shut down...

HI...I cannot shut windows down....it remains on
the "windows is shutting down" window for hours...The
download section at microsoft says they have a fix for
it...I downloaded the update....but one must restart
their computer to make these updates active....mine does
not shut down....a bit of a cunundrum...I wish I had my
Mac back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you hold down the power button for about 5 seconds, the
computer will shut off. Then you can turn it bach on
again, effectivly the same as a restart.

Hi Jamie, I have the same problem too when restarting.
Could you kindly tell me where to download that fix
please? Thanks!

BTW, I just hold down the power switch until my laptop
shuts down.
