Windows XP Home update

Hi There,

I'm trying to run windows update but when it logs on to Microsoft it says
I have to be an administrator. It's never done this before.

Recently my system had a IE Hijack which I think has been removed.

How do I change to an administrator so I can download updates and service
packs.
