Windows XP Home Stop: 0x00000050 Caught in endless reboot loop! Help?

Hiya.

I own a Dell Inspiron 5000 that I recently installed Windows XP Home
Edition on. I am not positive what I did wrong, but when I clean boot
the computer I get a stop error 0x00000050. It automatically reboots
and brings up several choices to start Windows. When I choose safe
mode the same blue screen comes up and the computer restarts. When I
choose run Windows normally the same blue screen comes up and the
computer restarts. When I choose "use last good configuration" the
computer simply goes blank and just stops. I can't turn it on or off.
I have to unplug the power and just let the battery die, which really
sucks.

Any ideas? The error message suggests turning off memory cache or
memory shadowing in the system BIOS. When I restart and get into the
BIOS, no options for memory cache or shadowing are available.

The error message also suggests removing any hardware I may have
recently installed. Everything is unplugged from the laptop, including
my USB game controller. But it's still stuck in the endless restart
loop.

I tried booting from the Windows XP installation CD-Rom and it starts
out well enough. It gets all the system info and gets ready to start
installing but the error screen comes up again and the system
restarts.

Soo... any ideas? This really sucks.

Any help appreciated!
