Windows XP Home Startup.

This may be a weird problem but here goes.

When I had Windows ME I could get into my Bios settings with no problems
because there was a second or two lag from the time the computer finished
the POST and Windows ME started. I could press F12 (to start Bios settings)
and all was well in computer land.

Since I have had Windows XP installed (It was a clean install since I had a
major problem with Windows after a Lightning storm so switched to XP) it
comes on so quickly after the POST that I can't activate the F12 no matter
how I do it.... Tapping the F12 key or holding the key down during start up.
It is very annoying because I need to get into the Bios Settings to change
one of the settings.

Is there any way of delaying the onset of XP long enough for the bios
activation to have effect?

My CPU is an Intel P3 at 800 Mhz.

Thanks for any help.

Begin pressing and depressing F12 from the moment you
start your computer. My CPU is 2 GHz and I got the same
problem.

Been there done that several times and no luck. Thanks for the suggestion
though.

Have you looked at the start up settings? If you open system
properties, advanced tab and then open the startup and recovery settings you
can adjust the time from there. Mine is set for 30 seconds, hope this helps.
