Windows XP Home Installation

I am reformatting and reinstalling XP on my laptop. Installation gets to
"Installing Windows" with "setup will complete in approx: 34 minutes" and
stops. It is in the middle of trying to install devices. I've tried three
times to reinstall, all with no luck. Can someone help me?

it's likely that you were experiencing
fault hardware.

then as a result had believe that a
new installation would improve
performance.

most laptops come with a factory
installation stored on the drive.

so if it is failing then one alternative
is perhaps accessing the bios and
disabling everything possible except
for your display, kb, mouse and drives.

some settings above are not modifiable

then try your factory restore again.

incidentally, if you are using a winxp
cd for the install, I would instead
boot with it to the recovery console
and do a

chkdsk /r
fixmbr

This is most often caused by having unnecessary USB peripheral
devices connected during the installation.

Setup stops responding with 34 minutes remaining
