Changed ISP, now Modem autodials the connection as soon as I log on. This is probably a
obvious fix, yet I'm at roadblock.Any help? Thanks!

Internet Options> Connections. Select "Never Dial."

If you have AOL or other ISP software installed, check the program for
"AutoStart" or "autodial" options.

If the modem still tries to autodial, go into Network Connections. Click on
Advanced in the menu bar. Select Dialing Preferences. Select "never
autodial when I am logged on."

If there are still attempts to autodial at startup, check the system for
malware. It's possible a rogue dialer has installed itself on your system.
Programs such as "AdAware" and "SpyBot Search and Destroy" can help you to
remove it.

Once you have the autodial at startup under control, you can go back
through the various settings and reconfigure them to your liking.
