My daughter had a compaq computer at college with XP
installed. It was working fine unil about the beginning of
May when it crashed. She had a classmate that had a disk
and was able to reinstall XP in order to finish some
projects. However, all previous data has been partition (I
think). Her computer has only an A,C drive and an E: drive
(CD-ROM). Since the re-installation the control panel
shows a C, A, D and E drive. The D drive shows in
parentheses (RP). I'm thinking that this indicates a
recovery partition. If I am correct, how do we recapture
the original files that were saved?????

I work in compaq.Let me know the model number of the computer and tell me form which cd you have restored your computer and how.
