Windows XP - Hibernate

My windows XP goes into hibernation for no apparent reason. While I am working on something, the computer from time to time, hibernates and turns off. This happens when the power schemes says "never" for hibernate.

I do have my computer tied into a UPS system and configured the Power Options UPS system to hibernate if there is a power failure. If I disengage the "hibernate" feature, then the computer seems to work OK and does not shut down.

Is there a glitch in the Windows XP hibernate option?

Depends what type of UPS you have - some will use the battery at all times,
others only in case of a power failure, others alternate (while recharging
the battery). Maybe a review of the UPS instructions would help. My take is
that XP reads one of the UPS states as "power failure."
