Windows XP Glitch-can't right-click on disk drives

I have been experiencing a problematic but so far benign Windows XP glitch
that prevents me from right-clicking or using the Properties tab on my
computer drives. I can't seem to pinpoint when this problem began or how it
began. I was using XP Home when it first started, then migrated to Windows XP
Pro thinking it might fix the problem (it didn't) and I even went so far as
to re-install XP Pro which also didn't solve the problem. The only thing that
the drives seem to have in common is that I enabled folder sharing on all of
them but beyond that I haven't been able to figure out what is causing the
glitch. The computer and Windows is suprisingly working fine otherwise except
for this one little glitch. I haven't been able to find anything about this
kind of problem at Microsoft's website. Has anybody else here experienced a
similar problem and if so, how did you resolve it? Any suggestions? Thanks!

In addition:

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is enabled:
