I have two questions.
1. Are there plans for an OS aimed at gamers?
2. What can be done in XP to optimize it for gaming? Besides registry
cleaning, turning Services off and drivers updates. What I mean is a
radical optimization, on a computer which has no internet, and no other
app installed besides DirectX games. I'm special interested on Registry
entries that can be safely deleted
Thank you.

For one thing, set the them to Windows Classic mode. It requires much less
processing power than XP. You can do this by right clicking My Computer,
clicking on the Advanced tab, and under performance, click Settings. Then
select the radio button "Adjust for best performance". It'll help free up a
little processor power you'll need.

Certainly there are plans for gamers. Microsoft intends for gamers to use
the X Box. How else is MS going to recover X Box development costs?

I would ask your question in one of the many microsoft.public.games groups
which you can find in the discussion group where I believe you have posted.

Way large case fans in back. Good video cards with lots of video ram.
Minimize background apps while playing games. Purchase the fastest CPU.
Get a ton of RAM.
