Mouse acceleration always kicks back on no matter what you UNCHECK..
Windows XP needs to develop a way to permenantly DISABLE ALL MOUSE
ACCELERATIONS for gamers..
Million of people play games online and to have an accurate mouse with NO
MOUSE ACCELERATION is vital for precision and accuracy..
the control panel/mouse option DOES NOT take away the mouse acceleration.
Gamers online have tried cpl mousefix.reg and accelfix.exe to completely
remove mouse acceleration and in many cases failed cause Windows XP forces
mouse acceleration without permission.
We need a PATCH from a professional at Windows XP to solve this problem once
and for all.

Why do you presume/conclude that Windows is the troublemaker here?

One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change from "sticking". These include
but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee
VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Here's something else about NAV that you may not be aware of:

Thank You very much for replying so quickly to my post PA Bear, it is very
much appreciated. I assume it's Windows XP cause internet gamers online all
have the same complaint about Windows XP mouse acceleration. The problem is
so serious they developed patches like cpl mousefix.reg for the registry and
accelfix.exe for win32k.sys. There are numerous forums of people playing
counterstrike complaining about mouse acceleration being off and then Windows
XP kicks the exceleration back on without permission. Only 3rd party
application I use is symantec antivirus. I've turned it off and the mouse
acceleration still remains..is their a way to monitor mouse acceleration we
can pinpoint the exact moment the mouse kicks the acceleration back on and
what application caused the mouse acceleration?

this link is to a forum going on for years about Windows XP's forced mouse
acceleration.

Disabling NAV (Symantec AntiVirus) does NOT disable the "protections"
causing the changes not to "stick"...nor does uninstalling it! (The
restrictions are present in the Registry.) Contact Symantec Support for
assistance.

Thank you for calling Symantec Technical Support. I've looked over the
e-mail that you've forwarded and also did some research. There is no history
of problems with Symantec Antivirus and mouse acceleration. Once Symantec
Antivirus is uninstalled it can't affect your registry in any way. Since
you've uninstalled SAV and the problem still exists it's absolutely
conclusive that it isn't a conflict with Symantec Antivirus.
Thank you.

I have spoken with symantec support for over 1 1/2 hour and they have
assured me it's NOT SYMANTEC. I am no closer to finding out how the Mouse
Acceleration kicks on even tho the mouse registry remains the same. The mouse
acceleration fix works effectively for 3 days and then kicks ON like
clockwork and after it kicks on, the patches and registry fixes have no
effect anymore even if you uninstall or install again. The registry changes
used by cpl mousefix.reg remains the same and the accelfix.exe patch states
mouse acceleration is disabled yet the Mouse still accelerates. What is
needed is a patch or program in Windows XP to track mouse acceleration and
have the ability to DISABLE mouse acceleration at it's root cause NO MATTER
what hardware or 3rd party application that might get involved.

The norton removal tool only applies to 2007/2006/2005/2004/2003. I have a
much older addition and have removed symantec completely. The key point to
fucus on is NOT blaming 3rd party applications. It's like chasing the many
SYMPTOMS but not KILLING THE ROOT CAUSE. People will always use Anti-viruses
and 3rd party applications. Disabling and removing all 3rd party applications
or tracking them down individually is absurd. Ultimately it rest upon the
OPERATING SYSTEM to have complete control of the mouse. Windows XP must to
develop a PATCH or PROGRAM to actively track and DISABLE ALL MOUSE
ACCELERATION PERMANENTLY from it's root cause NO MATTER what application
intervenes.
