Windows Xp Firewall

I would appreciate help re XP firewall. I have the
firewall enabled but notice that it no longer writes to
the pfirewall.log. Does this mean the firewall is not
doing its job or it is just not writing to the log?

Thanks

Hello!
By default, the security log is written to file
pfirewall.log in the Windows folder.
Make sure these Services are started and on automatic.

Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) / Internet Connection
Sharing (ICS)
Application Layer Gateway Service
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Remote Access Connection Manager

If you can't start any of these make sure that they have
all the services that they are dependant on started and on
automatic also.

If they wont start just leave them set to automatic and try
rebooting.

Have a look in your Event Viewer for any errors.

If there is a problem with corruption or similar try
running the System File Checker program from the Run Box by
typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
