windows xp firewall

Cannot ope firewall to turn it on - told that ics is not connected.
Help please

I am having the exact same problem that Mark is. Please help.


I am connected with a LAN network. All other programs work fine.
Sharing Files is disabled, although I tried enabling to see if it fixe
problem, but it did not.
