Windows XP deleted?

Last night I began deleting old files and folders from my computer in order
to free up some space. However, in this deleting spree I have obviously
deleted something relating to XP as when I switched my computer on this
morning I got an error message saying that the Windows root folder could not
be located. My display is of very poor quality, the colour quality is the
lowest 4-bit and cannot be changed. This has altered both graphics and text.
I have attempted to restore anything which has been uninstalled, to no joy.
The only problem I have is that Windows came already on this computer and I
have no disk. Have I really deleted my operating system, or can it be located?
Please could anyone help?

Firstly, let this be a lesson to you, never to tamper with things you don't
understand without first asking advice.

Your computer vendor has to supply a method of returning your machine to the
state that it left the shop. Consult your user manual or the vendor on how
to do this.

Unfortunately, the usual procedure for this will destroy all your data, so
you need to make a backup (which you should have been doing regularly
anyway) of any critical data that you may have on your machine.

Double click Recycle Bin Icon on desktop. If there are items in it; press
edit drop down and Select All. Right click the highlit selected items and
choose Restore.

I do things like that all the time. The best fix I fond is Window
Restore.
You will fine it under Prograns, Accessaris, System Tools, System
Restore.
Back date to a day that it was working right. You will lose all that
was put on after that date. Hope this helps. Vern
