Windows XP Critical Update - FrontPage?

Can anyone please tell me whether I need to install the
latest Windows XP Critical Update - "Security issue for
FrontPage Server Extensions ..." even though I do not
have Microsoft FrontPage installed?

You should allow this to install. It does patch a dll
that is in the default binaries of XP even if you do
not have Front Page Extensions installed.
 
Sorry - that info was dated.
You do not need it if IIS with FPSE is not installed,
but if you apply it it does not hurt, can be removed
but does not need to be removed.
