on occasion when installing software , i am asked to insert my windows xp home edition cdrom. But my system came with windows xp pre-installed and i don't have a cdrom. Can somebody explain whats happening .

You have to have a cd for Windows. It might be called Reinstallation Disk or Recovery Disk, but you have it. Call your manufacturer or check their web site. There are always times XP must be reinstalled, like when your hard drive crashes. Microsoft requires the manufacturer to supply a disk.

there should be a thing in your system to 'create a
recovery disc' (5 discs)
start, programs, your computers manufacturers name ,
create cds.
don't know why it's asking for your system disc though.
