windows xp cd key

have my windows xp home edition cd ....but i lost my product key number. So
now i'm using windows 2000.
Is there a way of getting my windows xp cd's product key number? .......i
know every microsoft products have different cd keys for every cd. I'm just
wondering if there is a way that i can retrieve my cd key?

You have two options for this. First is to contact the maker of your
computer. Like Dell, HP, etc, you will need to go to their website and
look for the customer service section. You should be able to get your
key from them if you purchased the computer through them. If not, check
out the link below and you'll have to wait and see what they ask you
for. Sometimes they will ask you to mail them the original CD, manual,
or something similar or provide a scan and they will help you out. It
may cost you extra money, but not as much as buying again. Check out
