In what way is this a new drive ? - Added to an existing, working XP
system - if so you use Disk Management to create partitions and the
format to use on them. If you are replacing an existing drive, do you
need to clone the contents or simply start over installing XP. If that's
the case the installation process with the XP CD-ROM can perform
partitioning and format operations.
You can access Disk Management via the Microsoft Management
Console. Right Click My Computer and Left Click "Manage".
I think he is trying to say he does not have a Windows XP disc, meaning the
OS...I f he did, he might know he can format with the disc. Send him your
copy of XP.
